Graveside services for Amos E. Ladd, 89, of Cadiz, were held on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Daniel Stewart Cemetery in Trigg County. The Rev. John Hagan officiated. Burial followed at the conclusion of the services in the Daniel Stewart Cemetery.

Amos Ladd died on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz.

Amos Ladd was a veteran of the United States Army and former Fire Chief of Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Buffalo Lick Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic at Thomas Industries for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Miller Ladd; parents, Minnie Warren Ladd and Nelson Clarence Ladd; six brothers, Mark, Gano, Darwin, Raymond Ladd and in infancy James and William Ladd.

He is survived by one brother, Malcolm Ladd of Cadiz; one daughter, Paula Ladd of Cadiz; one son, Jimmy Ladd (and wife Helen) of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Amanda Renee Ladd Jackson, Emilia Brooke Ladd and Hunter Elizabeth Ladd.
