Trigg County High School’s girls basketball team surpassed its 2012-13 win total with a 55-43 victory last Monday at Whitesville Trinity.

It was the Lady Wildcats’ second game in Trinity’s Christmas tournament, the first being a 44-21 loss to Hancock County.

Against Trinity, Trigg used a 16-5 second quarter run to take a 25-9 lead and never looked back. Mallory Mize led the way with a career-high 34 points, and Taylor Gray also had a career-high with 10.

Against Hancock, the Lady ‘Cats trailed by four after the first quarter but were outscored 28-10 in the second and third quarters combined.

On Friday, Trigg saw its overall record fall to 2-9 and its 5th District mark to 0-3 with a 52-26 loss at Lyon County.
