Veteran radio personality Willie Wilson spoke to the Cadiz United Methodist Men’s Group on Jan. 4.

He urged everyone to greet the New Year and each new day with an attitude of gratitude and a prayer that God would lead you to make a difference in someone’s life by encouraging and helping them. Even one kind word can change a person’s outlook that day.

Wilson also quoted Psalms 118:24: “This is the day which the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

His talk featured many humorous stories about serving as electronics technician in the United States Navy, and his radio broadcast career which spans over 50 years, including 1966-1986 as general manager and “Wake up with Willie” morning show host at WKDZ radio in Cadiz.
