Jerry Hampton died on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Hampton had retired from Special Metals in Princeton after 32 years. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Trigg County. Jerry was an avid sportsman and golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Hampton and Mary Gibbs Hampton; brother Bobby Joe Hampton; and sister Mary Carol Carneyhan.
Jerry Hampton is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy P’Pool Hampton of Cadiz; six brothers, Tommy Hampton of Hanson, Ronnie Hampton, Donnie Hampton, Jimmy Hampton, Danny Hampton and Billy Hampton, all of Cadiz; five sisters, Linda Webster of Princeton, Ann Burnam of Cadiz, Sue Gail Adams of Cadiz, Jean Ritcheson of Brownsville and Ruth Imbush of Cadiz; one son, Todd Hampton (and girlfriend Candy Fuller) of Cadiz; one daughter, Angela Lane (and husband Mike) of Cadiz; father-in-law and mother-in-law Clint and Pauline P’Pool; six grandchildren, Justin and Lauren Lane, Zach Lane, Dylan Lane, Ryan Hampton, Chase Hampton and Kady Fuller; and one great-grandchild, Jamison Lane.
Serving as active pallbearers were Tommy Hampton, Ronnie Hampton, Donnie Hampton, Billy Hampton, Jimmy Hampton, Danny Hampton and Roger Kennedy. Music was provided by Sara Wade and Jennifer Frederick Wease as vocalists and Tammy DeSpain, pianist.
