Trigg County Schools were closed Monday and Tuesday; the city and county offices were closed Monday; and the Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting that had been scheduled for Monday evening was rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. Many businesses and churches also closed on Monday, and a few closed on Tuesday as well.
Ice on Interstate 24 caused an accident involving two tractor-trailers that jack-knifed near mile marker 60 in the westbound lanes, blocking westbound traffic for hours, said Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd.
“Numerous crashes are reported across Trigg County,” Todd said on Sunday. “KYTC crews are spreading salt as best they can. However, the accumulating ice is making travel difficult.”
