The youth are given packets with three fabrics and they are required to incorporate all three fabrics in their block. The blocks were to be 16 x 16, incorporated the fabric provided, include hand or machine stitching, but no actual quilting. The youth used the fabrics to “paint” their block, by cutting out the fabrics.
The entries must also include a story about the block. Trigg County 4-H had 9 entries with 2 placing in the contest and 3 honorable mentions. Placing 2nd in the K-4th grade division was Ethan Hill and 3rd in the 5-8th grade division was Payton Hendricks.
Receiving honorable mention were Vincent Matthews in grade 9-12, Daniel Parker grades 5-8 and Julia Thomas grade K-4. Also participating were Eli Hill, McKenna Finley, Savannah Farrow, Tiara Reed, Jesse Seigmund and Lily Ballengee.
