Marshall Hammond died at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1932, in Cadiz to the late King and Lucy Curtis Hammond.
Mr. Hammond served in the United States Army and he retired in 1988 from Deig Brothers as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of local No. 181. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. He was involved in numerous bowling leagues and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Harold Dean Cavanah and Marcellus Hammond.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Finley Hammond of Evansville, Ind.; sister Diana Gyurkovitz of Hopkinsville; daughter Jann Hammond of Evansville; son John Hammond (and wife Melinda) of Newburgh, Ind.; and grandchildren Adam, Tyler and Allie Hammond.
