Hazel Oliver died on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
Mrs. Oliver was the owner of the former White Eagle Café & Hazel’s Place. She had also worked as a river barge cook for Crounse Corporation and as a private duty nurse. Hazel was a member of Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Oliver; father James Thomas; mother Palestine Futrell Thomas; four brothers, Claude, Ruba, Hervey and John Thomas; two sisters, Meda Thomas Burcham Tooke and Adell Thomas Skinner; half brother, Albert Thomas; two half sisters, Olie Taylor and Lona Skinner; one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Oliver; and one grandson, Jason Oliver.
She is survived by three sons, Robert W. “Bucky” Oliver, Johnnie H. Oliver (and wife Joan) and Lacy M. Oliver, all of Cadiz; two daughters, June Robnett (and husband Troy) of Hopkinsville and Delilah Dawson (and husband Billy) of Cadiz; eight grandchildren, Tony Oliver, Shannon Oliver Collins, Tina Robnett Larson, John T. Oliver, Heath Dawson, Dawn Oliver Bailey, Gina Robnett Hickson and Jonathan Oliver; 24 great-grandchildren, Shelby Oliver, Tyler Arnold, Travis Collins, Trevor Collins, Troy McKay Larson, Paisley Larson, Kiersten Larson, Reagan Larson, John Thomas Oliver, Cayla Hickson, Mason Hickson, Leiah Hickson, Connor Hickson, Reece Hickson, Lily Hickson, Morgan Hickson, Lance Hickson, Chase Hickson, Hensley Hickson, Billy Dawson, Christian Dawson, Payton Bailey, Alexa Bailey and Bodhi Bailey; and one great-great-grandchild, Lynnette Perez.
