After more than a week away from the court, Trigg County High School’s girls basketball team returned to action Monday and picked up its sixth win of the season.

The Lady Wildcats, who had three games canceled due to last week’s winter weather, improved their record to 6-14 when the won 64-37 at Christian Fellowship. It was Trigg’s second win of the season over the Lady Eagles.

The lead changed hands four times in the first quarter before Trigg closed the frame on an 8-0 run. The Lady ‘Cats then outscored CFS 15-3 in the second quarter.

The lone hiccup of the night for Trigg came late in the third quarter when starting point guard Mallory Mize left the game with an injury. After the game, Trigg head coach Russell Malone said it appeared Mize hyperextended her knee.

Mize finished with a game-high 27 points and was joined in double figures by Lauren Oliver, who scored 10. Taylor Gray grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lady ‘Cats.
