Trigg County’s elementary, middle and high school archery teams each won their divisions Saturday at the first Region Archery Tournament in Murray.

All three Arrowcats teams will next compete Kentucky’s Naional Archery in the Schools Program state championship tournament March 17-18 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, high school on the 17th, elementary and middle schools on the 18th.

The event doubles as the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s high school championship, as well. Archery became a KHSAA-sanctioned sport last school year.

Trigg’s high school team scored a 3454, which set a new NASP archery record, besting Trigg’s previous record of 3453.

Clay Stevens and Lora Lee Heady led Trigg archers, with Stevens earning the top male score of 296 and Heady the top female score of 292.
