Trigg County High School’s boys and girls basketball teams will complete regular-season play Thursday at Fort Campbell and compete in the 5th District Tournaments next week at Crittenden County.

Last week, the Wildcats lost 67-50 Friday at Caldwell County before topping Fulton City 69-37 on Saturday. The Lady Wildcats lost 51-23 at Caldwell County and celebrated Breanna Mount’s Senior Day by defeating Fulton City 49-41.

Friday, the Wildcats fell behind 14-4 in the first quarter against Caldwell and cut the gap to six late in the second quarter, but the Tigers closed the half on a 5-0 run to regain a double-digit advantage. Trigg was unable to mount a comeback.

Demaria Nance and Cole Gardner each scored 11 points to lead Trigg, and Tae Day finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The ‘Cats had no trouble with Fulton City, pushing the lead to double digits early in the second quarter and activating the running clock late in the third. Day scored 16 points to lead Trigg, followed by Gardner with 13 and Nance with 11.
