The Cadiz Public Works Department will temporarily move to the Trigg County Road Department during demolition of the old building and construction of the new one.

“It’s our plan to be moved out of here by the time we start mowing … that’s the middle of April,” Cadiz Public Works Director Kerry Fowler said.

At their rescheduled meeting last Tuesday evening, Cadiz City Council members agreed to advertise for bids a plan for a replacement building for the Cadiz Public Works Department. After Cadiz City Council member Todd King made the motion and fellow member Manuel Brown seconded, the vote was unanimous. The architect on the project is Wayne Clayton of CS Designs.

The current building, located on Nunn Boulevard across the street from The Cadiz Record, is roughly 60 years old, said Folwer, He showed a rendering of the new 80-foot-by-150-foot building at that meeting, stating that they’ve been working with the architect on this for some time now. He said the plans should be ready for bid this week.
