Lena Humphries passed away from natural causes at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1942, in Trigg County to Robert Earl and Hattie Acree.
Mrs. Humphries was employed at Lake Barkley State Resort Park in Cadiz where she worked as a cook.
She was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church where she served on the mother’s board and as past member of the kitchen committee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Humphries; parents, Robert Earl Acree and Hattie Hopson Acree.
Mrs. Humphries is survived by three sisters, Lois Wilson (and husband Fred), Lula Irvin and Annette Bingham, all of Cadiz; daughter, Nattie Cheatham, Annetta Boyd (and husband Pernell), both of Cadiz, and Lenetta Graves (and husband Robert) of Lacey, Wash.; sons Timothy Humphries (and wife Catara), Joel Humphries (and wife Stephanie), both of Cadiz, and John Earl (and wife Jeanette) of Paducah; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and God-daughter, Tameka Jackson of Elizabethtown.
