James Adams passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his home in Trigg County.
Mr. Adams had worked in construction building log homes and barns for area farmers. He also was a farmer, where he and his family owned and operated the family farm in the Siloam community of Trigg County. Through his experience of agriculture, he was honored with being awarded the WKDZ Trigg County Farmer of The Year Award in 2010 and he produced the Trigg County Country Ham Festival Grand Champion Ham in 2012. He attended Siloam United Methodist Church and was a United States Army veteran having served during the World War II era.
James Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Leon Adams and Georgia Cook Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Opal Vanzant Adams of Cadiz; one brother, Donnie Adams of Princeton; one sister, Ruth Nichols of Princeton; one son, James Adams, Jr. (and wife Karen) of Cadiz; one daughter, Debbie Houchins (and husband Skeets) of Crofton; three grandchildren, James Paul “J.P.” Profitt (and wife Leslie), Sarah Hawkins (and husband Jason), and James Adams III, (and wife Amanda); and four great-grandchildren, Thomas Hawkins, Noah Hawkins, Chloe Adams and Balian Abel.
