Harlon McCain passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville. Mr. McCain had managed a racetrack in Tucson, Ariz., and had also worked in construction. He was a member of Cerulean Baptist Church. Harlon was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
Harlon McCain was preceded in death by his parents, Harlon Prentiss McCain and Nancy Campbell McCain.
He is survived by his wife, Janette McCain of Cerulean; one step-daughter, Dorris McGill (and husband Mike) of Cadiz; three step-grandchildren, Janay Futrell (and husband Stacy) and Jody Terrell (and husband Kevin), all of Cadiz, and Justin McGill (and wife Emily) of Hardin; and six step-grandchildren, Audrey Futrell, Graham Futrell, Andrew Terrell, Jacob Terrell, Abby Jo Terrell and Brody McGill.
Serving as active pallbearers were Stacy Futrell, Kevin Terrell, Mike McGill, Andrew Terrell, Jacob Terrell, Graham Futrell, Justin McGill and Terry Stevens. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Sanderson, Jesse Fuller, Hollis Alexander, Jeremy Alexander, Darin Stevens, Terry Meacham, Wilburn Wilson, Jeff Broadbent, Billy Turner, Sonny Davis, Jackie Davis and Jim Neal.
