Loren Porter passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Loren Porter was born on Jan. 9, 1951, in Long Beach, Calif., to Edward D. Porter and Catherene Rossbottom Porter.
He was a retired postal worker from Lawrence, Kan., and was of the Mormon faith. Loren was a United States Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherene Rossbottom Porter.
He is survived by his father, Edward D. Porter of Port Ludlow, Wash.; two brothers, Alan “Val” Porter (and wife Ramona) of Cadiz and Edward D. Porter, Jr. (and wife Mary Jo) of Port Orchard, Wash.; three sisters, Carolyn Ann Souza (and husband John) of Port Orchard, Wash., Cathy West (and husband Sam) of Oregon and Charlotte Rhinehart (and husband Jim) of Olalla, Wash.; three daughters, Miranda Rellier (and husband Sam) of Olathe, Kan., Jennifer Porter of Rich Hill, Mo. and Catherene “Katie” Porter of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren, Spenser, Logan, Hudson and Suzanne.
Serving as pallbearers were Spenser Bonebrake, Cagney Porter, Brent Cooper, Jeff Futrell, Ricky Harris and Sam Rellier. Music was provided by Kellie Bush, pianist.
