Memorial services for Steven Dwight Burkhart, 62, of Dover, Tenn., will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Richard Stanley will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Veterans cemetery. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Steven Burkhart passed away following a long illness at 11:44 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Steven Burkhart was born on Oct. 22, 1951, in Clarksville, Tenn., to C.L. Burkhart, Jr., and Myrtle A Tourtlott.

Mr. Burkhart was an electrician and had served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, CL Burkhart, Jr.

Mr. Burkhart is survived by his mother Myrtle A. Tourtlott of Cadiz; one sister Evelyn W. Watkins of Alpharetta, Ga.; two daughters, Stephanie LaRocque (and husband Robert) of Clarksville, Tenn., and Cynthia “Cindy” Braun (and husband Kurt) of Attalla, Ala.; and five grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Braun of Attalla, Ala., and Ryan, Ayden and Makayla LaRocque, all of Clarksville, Tenn.
