Arrowcats win state championship

Trigg County High School’s archery team continued its string of dominance Monday. The Arrowcats finished with 3,457 points to win the second-ever KHSAA Archery State Championship.

Trigg finished with the best score among 26 schools competing, with the top three including Madison Central (second, 3,401) and Anderson County (third, 3,398).

Trigg’s boys were led by Evan Smith, who was an individual medalist in fourth place with 295 points. Clay Stevens, who finished seventh with 292 points, also earned the Forcht Bank Uncommon Excellence Award.
