The National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 1730, met on March 12 at the Senior Citizens Center. President Richard Pauze opened the meeting.

The invocation was given by Clyde Weaver and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lee Foster.

The guest speaker was Jim Mullen, a member of the Friends of Lake Barkley State Resort Park. Mullen spoke about the Friends’ activities such as the mural that was done near the Lodge, trail upkeep, donation of 200 chairs to the Park for weddings, their contribution every year to the July 4th fireworks, and many other projects.

He especially wanted to speak about the Friends new project, the Lake Barkley SRP/Trigg County Wheelchair Accessible Hiking Trail at the Park for all to use, including wheelchair access.
