Douglas Oliver passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Oliver had retired from Hayden Lumber Company. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church and Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121 where he was a past Master.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Oliver and Susie V. Oliver; foster brother Henry Ellis Oliver; and two sisters, Thelma Beatrice Oliver and Ruby Louise Oliver.
Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife, Margie Mitchell Oliver of Cadiz; two sons, Steve Oliver and Mike Oliver, both of Paducah; two daughters, Debra Thomas (and husband Dan) of Marietta, Ga. and Karen Caudill (and husband John) of Prestonsburg; ten grandchildren, Luke Thomas, Caleb Thomas, Allison Pinkston, Jeremy Caudill, Denise Thorpe, Stephanie Oliver, Debra Oliver, Graham Oliver, Dylan Oliver and Caroline Oliver; five great-grandchildren, Haley Pinkston, Zachary Pinkston, Cooper Caudill, Tucker Caudill and Ella Kate Thomas.
Serving as active pallbearers were Luke Thomas, Jeremy Caudill, Graham Oliver, Jordan DeSpain, Corey Creekmur and Zach Creekmur. Music was provided by Jackie and Janet Creekmur, vocalists. Memorial contributions may be made to: Pennyroyal Hospice, 220 Burley Ave., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
