Trigg-Lyon Fire Chief Bill Wade said that the department was first called out at about 3 p.m. for a brush fire, as the next-door neighbor started a brush fire that spread close to the house, but they put it out. However, they were back there after 9 p.m., because the house was on fire, and they were there until after 12:30 a.m. trying to get the fire knocked down, said Wade.
“We got it out, finally. It was a little bit of work, as it had a double-roof on it, that they put a shingle roof over the top of the metal mobile home roof. So that’s what gave us problems,” said Wade. “The house itself was a total loss.”
