Funeral services for J.B. McKinney, 76, of Princeton, were held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiated. Burial followed in the Blue Spring Church Cemetery. Morgan’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

J.B. McKinney passed away following a long illness at 12:02 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Princeton Health and Rehab Center.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1937, in Caldwell County to Homer McKinney and Hattie Belle Hall McKinney.

J.B. McKinney was a retired mechanic and a United States Army Veteran. He was a 36-year veteran of the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as captain and safety officer in his final years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Rose Oldham McKinney; and sister Katie East.

He is survived by one brother, Stanley McKinney of Princeton; three sisters, Loretta Hyde and Freda Oakley, both of Cadiz, and Wanda Palmer of Caldwell County; two daughters, Greta Steverson (and husband Brad) of Pleasureville and Amy Childress (and husband David) of Princeton; and one grandchild, Isaac Steverson.
