Funeral services for Elgene Radford, 88, of Hopkinsville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Cave Spring Baptist Church in Cerulean with visitation from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. The Rev. Charles Radford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cave Spring Church Cemetery in Cerulean. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Radford passed away of natural causes at 10:40 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Trigg County.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1925, in Trigg County to Charlie Lou Radford and Betty Roach Radford.

Mr. Radford was a retired laborer. He had worked at Reed Rock Quarry in Lake City. He was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church since the age of seven.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Likey Virginia Irving Radford.

He is survived by 12 children, 49 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
