The Cadiz-Trigg County EDC (Economic Development Commission) will officially join the Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council on Tuesday, July 1.

After an executive (closed) session for personnel matters and after little public discussion at their Thursday morning meeting, EDC members voted unanimously to join the SKEDC, which already includes members from Hopkinsville as well as Christian and Todd counties.

“I’ll definitely be here,” said Cadiz-Trigg County EDC Executive Director Sharon Butts. “It doesn’t really change anything that we’re really doing, it’s just that I’m going to be more involved on a regional level on projects.”

Butts will work full-time for the regional group as associate director of Trigg County, splitting her time between the Hopkinsville office and her current office at the Cadiz Commerce Center, said EDC Chairman Don Liebe. Although the details haven’t yet been finalized, she will start on July 1.
