Trigg County High School’s softball team dropped its first two 5th District games of the season Thursday in a doubleheader against Lyon County.

The Lady Wildcats struggled at the plate in the first game, managing four hits in a 7-0 loss. Alison Russell, returning to action after missing two weeks due to injury, pitched a complete game in the loss, striking out five.

Trigg took a 1-0 lead to start the second game on a double by Addison Rogers, but Lyon then scored twice to take the lead. The Lady ‘Cats had four more runners in scoring position through the rest of the game but couldn’t score any more runs.

Gracie Dixon pitched a complete game in the loss, and Russell finished with two hits.
