Former Arrowcat Messmer wins college regional, set for intercollegiate championships next month in California

Brianna Messmer, former Trigg County Arrowcat who is now shooting at the University of the Cumberlands, recently picked up a win in an event in Gainesville, Fla.

April 11-13, Messmer took first place in the Southeast Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championship, scoring 586 and earning a No. 3 seed for head-to-head matches on the second day.

Messmer also perfomed well at three other events this season. She finished third with a score of 330 (149, 181) at the South Regional Intercollegiate 3D Championships on Sept. 21-22 in London.

At the 3D US Intercollegiate Archery Championships on Oct. 12-13 in Columbia, Mo., Messmer finished fifth with a score of 323 (149, 174).
