Cadiz Mayor Lyn Bailey has proclaimed Friday, April 25, as the official Arbor Day in Cadiz.

The City will be observing this occasion by planting a tree in East End Cemetery at 10 a.m. Following the reading of the proclamation by the mayor, Mr. Chad Brothers with Kentucky Forestry Service will speak. The public is invited to attend, refreshments will be served.

The Cadiz Tree City USA Board was formed by the Cadiz City Council in December of 2012 in an effort to beautify the public areas of the city especially after the loss of so many trees following the ice storm of 2009.

Members appointed to the Board by Mayor Bailey are: Chair, Jackie Franklin; Secretary, Becky Boggess; and Treasurer, Gary Polete. Ricky Turner, Paul Fourshee, and Leida Underhill complete the committee.
