At Thursday night’s Trigg County Board of Education meeting, Trigg County School Superintendent Travis Hamby said the Pennyrile District Health Department will not renew its contract for the next school year, largely because of Medicaid reimbursements. The Wildcat Clinic was established roughly three years ago.
“I was unaware that this was being considered until it had already happened and action had been taken,” said Hamby. “They just didn’t feel like they could financially continue to run the clinics in the schools.
The decision affects all the schools in the Pennyrile District Health Department’s area. The PDHD covers Caldwell, Crittenden, Livingston, Lyon and Trigg counties.
