The local business is owned by Mary Katherine Smith and was represented at the meeting by attorney Chappell Wilson. They were originally granted a variance in the stormwater maintenance plan, said Cadiz-Trigg County Planning Commission Chairman Bob Brame.
During the site design and construction phase, their engineer was able to design the lot to meet the Planning Commission’s rules. Wilson brought the completed plan before the Planning Commission members.
“They had asked for a variance, but then the engineer took that back and actually designed a stormwater management plan,” Brame said. “Because he was their engineer and he’s also the City, County and the Planning Commission’s engineer, we sent it to a second engineer and had them look over it.”
