Lurline Whitney passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, at her home in Hopkinsville.
Mrs. Whitney had retired from Western State Hospital as a registered nurse. She was a member of Joiner’s Chapel Church of Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley C. Brawner, Jr.; parents, Bennie Gilbert Smith and Mariah Blackford Smith; brother, Joe Edward Heard; and sister, Izora McKinney.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Whitney of Hopkinsville; brother Gene Heard of Evansville, Ind.; one step-daughter, Tammy Cook of Hopkinsville; three grandchildren, Paul Cook, Brandy Whitney and Becky Whitney; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Cook and Angelesha Whitney.
Serving as pallbearers were Caleb Cook, C.L. McKinney, Jr., Drew McKinney, Zach McKinney, James Willey, Sr., and James Willey, Jr.
