Funeral Mass for Betty Jean, “Aunt Betty” Albrecht Hunt Wence, was held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Father Joseph Babu officiated. Burial followed at Trigg Memory Acres. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Jean Albrecht Hunt Wence passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Sisters of Providence Health Care in Saint Mary Of The Woods, Ind.

Mrs. Wence had worked as a legal secretary for the late Paul F. Wells in Terre Haute, Ind., until she retired. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Cadiz where she resided for 28 years. Betty was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Cadiz.

“Aunt Betty” spent the past few years at Providence Health Care, Inc., sponsored by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary of the Woods. A sincere thank you to all of those who offered aid and comfort during this time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrold Wence; her parents, Charles and Della Albrecht; sister Virginia Liston; step-son Thomas Brown; brother-in-law Lawrence H. Liston; and special friends Lloyd and Wilma Swearingen.

Betty Wence is survived by one niece, Sister Lawrence Ann Liston of Terre Haute, Ind.; two step-grandsons, Thomas Wence Brown and Timothy Wence Brown; Goddaughter Theresa Goodwin; and special friends the Swearingen Children, Martha, Trixy, Sally, Joe and Georgianna.
