A reception was held on April 12 at the Cadiz Renaissance Center to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Trigg County Republican Women’s Club.

At the beginning of 2004, Brenda Payne and several friends gathered to create the club. They needed at least 10 members to be eligible to join the Kentucky Federation of Republican Women (KFRW). The first roster submitted to KFRW had 24 women. Mrs. Payne was elected as the president of the club at the April 2004 meeting. Willee Cooper of Hopkinsville was there to help the club get organized. Mrs. Cooper represented the 1st district for KFRW.

The ladies participated in community events such as the Ham Festival, Women’s Show, and parades to let people know about Republican candidates. That tradition has continued since then.

The message from the club was “It’s alright to be a Republican in Trigg County.”
