Mudbugs. Crawdads. Crawfish. Crayfish. Whatever you call the freshwater crustaceans, they will be served up in June to help the Fort Campbell USO (United Service Organization).

Karen Randall of Coldwell Banker said proceeds from a crayfish boil, the second annual “Mudbug Soiree” fundraiser – which is being held at the Lake Barkley State Resort Park Pavilion – will all go to the Fort Campbell US.

Randall says they’re looking to sell a lot of tickets at $25 apiece to the event, which will include a crawfish boil, music by Tim Lynch Band and a silent auction from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. She hopes for between 300 and 400 people. The event itself is from 12 noon to 5 p.m., and the music starts at 1 p.m.

“It’s a tremendous amount of fun. Kids love it. We picked crawfish because it’s fun, and I’m familiar with it. We will fly them (the crawfish) in, and then I’ll boil them,” said Randall.
