While talking about salary schedules and the total $23,785,111.50 tentative budget, Trigg County School Superintendent Travis Hamby said the state mandates a 1-percent increase, but they felt an extra 1 percent was the prudent thing to do.
“I think it’s good we can do the extra 1 percent,” said Trigg County Board of Education Chairman Mike Davis.
Both the salary schedules and the budget as a whole were passed unanimously. There was a 1-percent salary increase last year, with no increases the year before that, and before that there was another 1-percent increase. It doesn’t apply to the ESS (Extended School Service), PD (Professional Development) or ED (Extra Duty) salary schedules.
