Several kids placed at the annual Take A Kid Fishing Day, held this weekend at West Cadiz Park.

There were 150 children age 3 to 15 who fished, played games, and practiced casting and reeling, and there were an estimated 300 people present, said Carmen Finley of PACS-RSVP (Pennyrile Allied Community Services – Retired Senior Volunteer Program).

Organizer Leida Underhill said the turnout was lower than in previous years but was exciting.

The event is open to kids ages 3 – 15. Each person received a t-shirt and goody bag, and lunch. Door prizes, including bicycles were given in four age categories and trophies were given to the winners who had the longest fish, most fish, and smallest fish in ages 3 – 5, 6 – 8, 9 – 11 and 12 – 15.
