Memorial services for Herald Gene Wallace, 65, of Cadiz, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Harry Chronister will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the service hour. Burial will be at Page Cemetery in Bumpus Mills, Tenn. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Herald Gene Wallace passed away of natural causes at 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehab Center in Cadiz.

Herald Gene was born on May 17, 1949, in Stewart County, Tenn., to Dillon Wallace and Ruth Laydell Warnick Wallace.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and had worked at St. Louis Car and the Train Co. in Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dillon and Ruth Wallace.

Herald Gene Wallace is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen Ruth Smith Wallace of Cadiz; brother Gilbert Roscoe Wallace of Granite City, Ill.; two sons, Darrel Gene Wallace and Renee Mayers of Cadiz and Derek Gene Wallace of Cadiz; daughter Ella Bennett (and husband Jerry) of Gilbertsville; eight grandchildren, DJ Hargrove, Crystal Russell, Nolan Hargrove, Morgan Wallace, Delaney Wallace, Dillon Wallace, Alex Wallace and Ethan Wallace; and seven great-grandchildren.
