Funeral services for Myra S. Bartee, 91, of Princeton, a native of Trigg County, were held on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Doug Anderson and Chris McKenzie officiated. Burial followed at Daniel Vinson Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Myra Bartee passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, at her home in Princeton.

Mrs. Bartee was a retired cook and caterer that had worked at several restaurants and nursing homes. She was affectionately referred to as “the Cake Lady.” She was a member of Rock Front Baptist Church in Linton, the Linton Homemakers Club, the James Thomas Chapter of the DAR and had participated in the Trigg County Relay for Life.

Myra Bartee was preceded in death by her husband, William David Bartee, Sr.; parents McKinley Shaw and Harriet Nunn Shaw; son William David Bartee, Jr.; granddaughter Shannon Leigh Bartee; and son-in-law Jimmie McElroy.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Anderson (and husband Rev. Douglas) of Princeton and Ruth McElroy of Mckinney, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson, Joel Anderson, Julie McKenzie, John Anderson, Shelagh McElroy, Lindsey Bartee and Kevin McElroy; and 13 great-grandchildren, Sarah McKenzie, Chris McKenzie, Luke McKenzie, Leah Anderson, Carley Anderson, Brannan Anderson, Braelynn Anderson, Korey McElroy, Kinan McElroy, Justus Fox, Myracle Fox, Asher Bartee and Oliver Wilson.
