The public is invited to get an up-close look at bats, bugs, snakes, turtles, and more during Cool & Crawly Critters Day at Woodlands Nature Station on Saturday, July 12, from 10am-4pm, in Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.

Event admission is $5 ages 5 and up, ages 4 and under is FREE. All programs are included with admission. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Visiting scientists and other animal experts will introduce visitors to the critters they study. People can see live bats up close, pose for a picture with a snake, touch a tarantula, and stare down a snapping turtle.

A variety of live animal programs and exhibits, as well as kids’ games, crafts, visits from Smokey Bear, and other animal-inspired activities will be available throughout the day. A complete schedule can be found on the Nature Station page online at www.landbetweenthelakes.us.
