After about six years, the Trigg County Chapter of the Imagination Library has delivered almost 40,000 books to children ages five and under, said organizer Dr. Scott Sutherland.

“We will be delivering 569 books in July. And when we will have delivered those, we will have delivered 40,264 books since August 2008,” said Sutherland. “I don’t know how many books there are in our public library, but I’d say we’ve done a good job.”

Trigg County’s Imagination Library delivered more than 7,000 books just in 2013, at an average cost of $2.06 per book, said Sutherland.

Sutherland said the Math Magic program they started has been successful, with three distributions done to pre-Kindergarten children across Trigg County.

Trigg County Primary School Principal Ann Taylor thinks the program has helped so far, Sutherland stated.
