By the end of this year, Brown will have served for 12 years, or six terms, on the Cadiz City Council. He said that while he’s enjoyed the duty and has enjoyed serving the people, 12 years is enough, and he’s ready to give someone else a turn.
“I’ve enjoyed working with the mayor and all the people on the council, now and in the past,” Brown said. “But I’ve decided not to run, and I’d like it to be known now so that if somebody wants to get in … they’ll have an opportunity to run if they want to. I have enjoyed it … but 12 years will be enough for me.”
Last Wednesday morning, Cadiz City Council member Frankie Phillips filed to run for re-election. He was the first Cadiz City Council member to file for re-election.
