The Trigg County Primary/Intermediate School renovation project is slightly more than two weeks away from it’s scheduled “substantial completion” deadline of Thursday, July 31, and it will mostly be ready for occupancy by that date.

That was what architect Keith Sharp with Hopkinsville-based JKS Architects told Trigg County Board of Education members at their meeting Thursday night. He said he has been in almost daily contact with Paducah-based Vanguard Construction – the contractor responsible for the project – and all signs point to the building being ready before school starts on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

“This past Monday, we had a meeting with … all of the contractors, and in summary the topic of the meeting was there’s no Plan B, meaning that the building has to be finished so that you have school,” Sharp said. “That statement was understood, and all the contractors present posed no objections.”

As exceptions, Sharp said the new office might not be complete by that date, and the new area for loading and unloading of buses might also not be complete.
