At their meeting Monday afternoon, BLRWD board members passed a bond resolution for $825,000 for the project. Last month, board members approved a bid for the line work to United Pipeline of Tompkinsville, for $452,565. They also approved a bid for the new water tank to Kentucky Glass-Lined Tank Systems, Inc., of Lexington for $368,498.
BLRWD Manager Terry Goins they’re still waiting on approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development division, but he estimated that construction could begin by the middle of next month.
Last month, Goins said the biggest advantage for the improvement project will be that power outages won’t result in water outages for the roughly 500 customers in Cerulean and Gracey.
