Memorial services for William “Bill” Hartmann, 96, of Cadiz, will be held with full military honors at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. The Rev. James Shuck will officiate. Entombment will follow the service. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Hartmann passed away following a long illness at 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at his home in Cadiz.

William was born Dec. 16, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo., to Charles Hull Hartmann and Lydia Fredericka Nottebrok Hartmann.

William Hartmann was a member of Rockcastle United Methodist Church. He was a retired commander and pilot of the United States Navy having served 22 years of service and later retired from Hollander & Co. in St. Louis, Mo.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lydia Hartmann.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathryn Hartmann of Cadiz; two sons, Mark Hartmann of Boca Raton, Fla. and Rodney and Kathy Huffman of Kelso, Mo.; one daughter, Kathy Sue Bonnell of Orlando, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Victoria Lynn, Carley Nicole, Joshua, Jordan, Dalton, Austin and Matthew.
