At a meeting on Monday evening, magistrates on the Trigg County Fiscal Court approved a $299,687 contract with Lanham Brothers, who were the only bidders. Their bid was about $18,000 more than the original estimate, so the approval is contingent on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s acceptance of the bidder and the county’s ability to negotiate the base bid.
“They’ve done this type of work in the past,” said Teddi Hibbard of GRW, the architecture firm out of Nashville, Tenn., that is overseeing the project. “We’re hoping we can negotiate it down.”
The $299,687 is the base bid. Hibbard said it includes re-roofing, brick replacement, window replacement and chimney reconstruction. Alternate bids would make the project thousands of dollars more expensive.
