Randy Clark, who served as Trigg County Sheriff and more recently served on the Cadiz Police Department, has taken over animal control duties.

Magistrates on the Trigg County Fiscal Court unanimously approved Clark at their Monday evening meeting. He took over for Trigg County Emergency Management Director David Bryant, who temporarily took over animal control duties from the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.

The situation was discussed at a special-called Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting last Tuesday, during which no action was taken, explained Trigg County Judge Executive Hollis Alexander. He said Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam called him before that meeting to say his office could no longer perform that duty.

“What we did in that meeting was to let [Trigg County Attorney Randy Braboy] point us in the directions that we could go or couldn’t go,” Alexander said. “With that in mind, we came to a conclusion on which way to go.”
