GOLF: Mitchell ties for 53rd at Ky. Open

Tyler Mitchell of Cadiz tied for 53rd place during the 95th Kentucky Open men’s golf tournament last week at Hunting Creek Country Club in Prospect.

Mitchell, a former standout golfer at Trigg County High School, finished with a three-round score of 13-over-par 229 (76-76-77) to finish in the top third of the field.

Winning the tournament was Paducah’s Rick Cochran III, nephew of professional golfer Russ Cochran.

Rick finished at 12 under par for the tournament and won by four strokes over Jared Wolfe of Louisville.
