The Kentucky Arts Council has awarded more than $1.4 million in operating support to 96 arts organizations across the Commonwealth for the 2015 fiscal year through its Kentucky Arts Partnership (KAP) program.

The Janice Mason Art Museum, located on Main Street in Cadiz, received $2,151. The Pennyroyal Arts Council in Christian County received $5,978. Playhouse in the Park and the Murray Art Guild, both in Calloway County, received $3,751 and $2,080, respectively.

The KAP program provides nonprofit arts organizations with unrestricted operating support to ensure that year-round participation in the arts is available to the people of Kentucky. The competitive grants are awarded annually.

“KAP organizations are the backbone of the state’s arts infrastructure and primarily provide arts services and programs directly for the benefit of the public,” said Lori Meadows, executive director of the arts council.
