At a Planning Commission meeting last Tuesday evening, Futrell, who resides at 50 Main St., said damage to his building and his health problems are caused by what he called improper backfilling of an adjacent lot in the area of 44/46 Main St.
The lot burned down in March 2012. David Chestnut, who owns the lot that burned down, was present at the meeting for an unrelated item but left before the discussion of this property.
Futrell disagreed with a decision by Wallace, who didn’t require that Chestnut remove water and mold in Futrell’s building. Futrell, who said that water damage and mold are caused by the reportedly improper backfilling, hired the engineering firm of Bacon, Farmer and Workman to assess the situation, and read from BFW’s opinion.
