Three more candidates filed to run for a seat on the Cadiz City Council this week, said Trigg County Clerk Dorris McGill.

Reva Anderson, owner of Reva’s Place on Main Street in downtown Cadiz, along with Stephen A. Blyze and Dale Ezell are the fifth, sixth and seventh overall to file to run for a seat on the six-member local governmental body, putting the number of newcomers in the race to four. The other newcomers are Trigg County Intermediate School Principal Brian Futrell and Jeannie Stagner-Bodine.

So far, the only current Cadiz City Council members to file for re-election are Bob Noel and Frankie Phillips. The deadline to file for the non-partisan positions, including mayor and city council positions, is Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Cadiz City Council member Manuel Brown is not running for re-election, and fellow Cadiz City Council member Todd King is running for mayor. Cadiz Mayor Lyn Bailey won’t seek another term.

On Tuesday, John Perry Fourqurean, Jr. filed for re-election to the Soil and Water Conservation District Board, which has seven supervisor seats.
