We have a Cadiz Record subscription for the purpose of studying and praying over the sample election ballots. Our subscription expires before the main elections. Although this year some choices the primaries gave us makes us almost want to stay home, such as “Lying Mitch” and “Promised humanity crimes Grimes.” Besides, even then we still have Obama, “Deceit Incarnate.” For that reason, we must vote.
In the primary election of Sheriff Ray Burnam, we believe our vote for him was not a mistake. Cadiz citizens remember the disappearance of the aged Linton lady, and supposed hunting and canine tracking for any physical evidence. They gave up for years. Then only a few years ago found skeletal remains where they’d supposedly looked. Weird, huh? Most Trigg Countians had suspicions of who the culprits were, before the law got around to solving it. Just as with Chantell Humphries, most Trigg Countians have a pretty good idea, although some want to let that go-again-or find a scapegoat.
Which brings me to my point: we need a sheriff that won’t let go until the truth is discovered. One that will keep searching till things are solved and the still wondering, grieving family has final closure on what happened to their loved one.
Mr. McGill, I would think managing a newspaper, you would try to appear unbiased. We finally have a good sheriff that goes against the establishment to get his job done. Thank you, Sheriff Ray Burnam.
